Boundaries — We All Need Them

They are essential in life, for the reduction of strife

Corrina Turner

To have boundaries in place

Creates a healthy space

They are essential in life

For the reduction of strife

Each and every one of us

Is NOT making a fuss

When we put our needs first

And step away from others thirst

You have the right to say no

This enables us to grow

You have the right to walk away

From people who prey!

You are allowed to stand your ground

From those who hound

You are allowed to be firm

Even if it makes them squirm

Putting boundaries in place

Can be done with grace

They may not like what they see

As they scream ME, ME, ME

But to protect your energetic space

Prevents tragedy and bad taste

When you keep you clean and bright

You step away from their fight

Do not be scared

If it needs to be shared

And you need to speak out

To stop the energetic clouts

The ones who don't matter

May intend to shatter

Try and invade your space

Because you put boundaries in place

So step the boundaries up more

Show no one treats you poor

Draw on the strength at your core

This will help you feel more sure

Because people who truly care

Will not aim to get under your hair

They will respect your space

And be true to your face

Remember you come first

So be your own nurse

Put those boundaries in place

And protect your space!
